Designed for sturdy cats
If your cat weighs more than 6 kg, the question isn't height but stability and the kind of beds on offer. That's exactly what this model addresses.
The hammock almost always wins
Taut fabric sags under the weight and moulds to the body along its whole length. A heavy cat who sprawls out and looks for continuous support stays there far longer than on a rigid platform where only a few points bear the load.
Wide at the bottom, safe at the top
A 55 × 38 cm base for 132 cm of height: the ratio is deliberately squat. A 7 or 8 kg cat jumping straight onto the top platform sets a narrow tree swaying. This one takes the impact and stays put.
Five spots for five moods
The enclosed den for disappearing, the hammock for long naps, the deep basket for curling up in a ball, the platforms for keeping watch. A cat doesn't sleep in the same place twice in a row — variety is what keeps them on the tree.
Sisal posts, everywhere
All the load-bearing posts are wrapped in sisal from floor to platform. Your cat can stretch out to their full length while scratching vertically — the exact movement they go looking for on your sofa when they have nothing else.
01 · The hammock
Stretched between four posts
The fabric is attached at its four corners, halfway up the tree. Under the cat's weight, it takes on a cradle shape that holds them on every side — it's this enveloping feel that makes the hammock so popular with bigger cats.
It unhooks: you can take it off to wash it, or to clear the way if your cat prefers to move around.

The hammock
The fabric hugs the body.
A flat platform concentrates the support on a few points, and a heavy cat ends up slipping. Fabric stretched between four posts sags under the weight and moulds to the body along its whole length.
It's often the favourite bed of sturdy cats — and it unhooks for washing.

55 × 38 cm on the floor, and allow room to walk around it. The hammock is the only part that needs regular washing: unhook it and wash it by hand, and it regains its tension as it dries flat.
02 · The den
The place they disappear to
The enclosed den sits on the middle level, between the hammock and the top platform. Closed on three sides and lined with plush, it shuts out the light and some of the noise.
It's where a cat goes when there are people in the house, when the vacuum cleaner is running, or simply when they want to sleep without being seen.

Footprint and height
Measure your space before choosing. A badly placed cat tree doesn't get used, whatever its qualities.
What to measure at home
- The floor space available, in length and width.
- The ceiling height where you plan to put it.
- The wall you'll stand it against.
Leave about twenty centimetres of clear space in front of the tree so the cat can take a run-up.
The three figures to compare
| Measurement | Value | What it means at home |
|---|---|---|
| Footprint | 55 × 38 cm | A wide, squat base, made to absorb jumps. |
| Total height | 132 cm | The vantage point an active adult cat looks for, without overwhelming the room. |
| Weight | 10.6 kg | Stand it against a wall and retighten the fixings after a few days. |
Five different kinds of bed: hammock, enclosed den, basket and two platforms. Three colours. Self-assembly — fixings and instructions included.
Setting it up and getting them used to it
Five spaces can be a little intimidating at first. Here's the order in which cats usually take to them.
-
Against a wall, in the living area
Even with a wide base, the support of a wall removes any remaining sway. And a tree placed where you live is a tree that gets used.
-
Assemble it, then retighten
Assemble from the bottom up, then go over every screw once the tree is standing — the wood settles slightly the first time it's put together. Check the hammock's tension.
-
Start with the hammock
It's the most instantly appealing part. Put a piece of fabric that carries their scent in it: many cats settle in on the very first evening.
-
Let them discover the den
Never push your cat into it. A treat left at the entrance, then inside, over a few days: they'll end up going in on their own, and it's the only approach that works.
Frequently asked questions
What people ask us about the hammock cat tree
Will the hammock hold an 8 kg cat?
It's stretched across four anchor points fixed to the load-bearing posts, and it's precisely the type of bed we recommend for heavy cats: the load is spread across the whole fabric. Simply check the tension of the fixings after a few weeks of use, as you would with any hammock.
How does it differ from the wooden cat tree with woven baskets?
Two different approaches. The wooden cat tree with woven baskets is all about materials: solid wood and woven rattan, with no carpet or melamine panels, one metre tall on a small footprint. This one is wood covered in soft plush, softer to the touch, with a taut fabric hammock and an enclosed den, 132 cm tall: it's aimed at comfort and stability for a sturdy adult cat.
Will the plush wear out quickly?
It will mat in the spots where your cat sleeps most; that's unavoidable with this kind of covering — it's the trade-off for its softness. Regular brushing and a pass with the vacuum cleaner on low power limit the build-up of hair. If you'd rather have materials that develop a patina than ones that mat, take a look at the wood and rattan cat tree.
Is it tall enough for a cat who climbs a lot?
132 cm more than covers a flat-dwelling cat's need for a vantage point. If yours already spends their time on top of the wardrobes, the tall 160 cm rattan model will give them the truly commanding spot they're after — but it's a very different budget.
Can two cats use it at the same time?
Yes, and it's one of its strengths: five spots at different heights and with different degrees of openness. In practice, one takes the hammock, the other the den or the top platform. For two cats who tend to provoke each other, this separation by level eases a great deal of tension.
How long does assembly take?
Allow about an hour. The fixings and instructions are supplied, and a cross-head screwdriver is all you need. The hammock goes on last, once the structure is standing and tightened.
